What each one is for
Mathpix is the recognition layer a lot of other software wishes it had. Snip an equation from a PDF, a photo, or a screenshot and it returns clean LaTeX or Markdown with remarkable accuracy, even on dense notation. As a conversion utility it is excellent and well worth its place in a workflow.
But conversion is the whole job. Mathpix hands you markup; it does not solve the equation, it does not graph it, and it does not teach it. Where Mathpix wins
For pure, high-accuracy OCR of existing images — digitizing a stack of scanned notes or pulling equations out of a PDF into LaTeX — Mathpix is purpose-built and its API and Snip tool are excellent.
